SEWING CLASSES –  AT MY PLACE OR YOURS

Small workshops catering for complete beginners to experienced sewers. Lots of individual attention from qualified textiles tutor.  Maximum number of attendees at my workshop in Amersham is four. I have two sewing machines, plenty of thread and a modest selection of fabric. For small projects I supply the fabric, for larger projects you do. You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you prefer. I can also come to a venue of your choice within a 30 mile radius of Amersham, where, depending on the space available, I can accommodate up to eight people. Offsite workshops need a minimum of four people to run.

Choose from the list of suggested workshops or let me tailor lessons to suit your individual needs. I can help you to make whatever you want to make, be it a set of cushions, a child’s dress or a special outfit for a wedding. Also, different skill levels can be catered for within the same workshop. I can help you with anything you want to make. Sometimes you just need to go somewhere to make you spend the time making. Come as a group and benefit from reduced prices.

Times and Prices

• One-to-one workshops are £60 per person for a half day (10.00-1.00pm)  and £90 for a full day (10.00-4.30pm) with a half hour break for lunch.

Get a group together and my prices are significantly reduced. Different skill levels can be catered for within the same workshop. All prices are per person.

2 people:      Half day £45             Full day £70

3 people        Half day £40            Full day £60

4 people        Half day £35.           Full day £50

There is a nominal charge for materials which varies depending on the project, or you may prefer to bring your own.

For offsite workshops please add £30 for travel costs (per workshop)

Level descriptors

Level 1:
Total beginners with little or no experience of using a sewing machine.

Level 2:
You will have a basic knowledge of sewing and know how to thread a machine, sew straight lines and turn corners but you may need guidance when it comes to zips, buttonholes, etc.

Level 3:
Confident on a sewing machine, able to insert zips, accomplished at hand sewing. May require guidance on following a dress pattern.

Level 4:
Experienced sewers, needing little or no guidance.

Coffee, tea and biscuits/glass of wine provided for all Amersham-based workshops but please bring a packed lunch for whole day workshops.

Workshops must be booked and paid for in advance – preferably by BACS payment.
