A great weekend had by all at the residential course hosted by Jamie Malden of Colouricious, with Claire from In Stitches providing the sewing tuition. 25 ladies descended upon the Holiday Inn in High Wycombe for four days of pure joy.
With sewing machines, blocking printing, ‘gelli’ printing and decolourant on offer they were spoilt for choice. The course was intense, with students working from early morning till late afternoon, with welcome breaks for coffee, lunch and tea. All was provided.
Sewing projects this time focussed on making the perfect zipped pouch (featured in an earlier post) and a simple envelope cushion. It was surprising the number of people who, when asked about their sewing ability, said they were competent but struggled with zips. They all received close attention and guidance with the tricky business of inserting a zip into a pouch. There were some truly wonderful examples. Brief instructions for the cushion and pouch can be found below.
For one to one, or group tuition, visit the workshop page and book a session with Claire, either in Amersham or at a venue of your choice.
Or book the next Printology course which is scheduled for 26th-29th October this year – there are still places available, though it’s booking up fast.
